It&#8217;s all over the internet, but I first found out about it via email. Like <a href=\"http:\/\/www.two--four.net\/weblog.php?id=P3643\">Billy Beck<\/a>, I prefer his short stories to his novels. But then, I like short stories, particularly older ones from the field.<\/p>\n<p>He made <a href=\"http:\/\/lakdiva.org\/clarke\/1945ww\/\">other contributions besides his fiction<\/a>. I think I&#8217;ll note the occasion by digging out my button with the paraphrase of his <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Clarke%27s_three_laws\">Third Law<\/a>: Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from a rigged demo.&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Arthur C.
