Lt. Rowan is held up as <a href=\"http:\/\/www.belikerowan.com\/\">someone to emulate<\/a>, although <a href=\"http:\/\/www.foundationsmag.com\/rowan.html\">the assistance he received<\/a> sometimes left him with so little control over his situation that he was concerned about where he was being taken.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;d never read Rowan&#8217;s description of his trip, so that was interesting, and re-reading Hubbard&#8217;s essay was also interesting &#8211; I picked up on his examples about grammar and punctuation this time, partly because I had just read <a href=\"http:\/\/www.americanexperiment.org\/publications\/2010\/20100122miller.php\">an essay on that topic<\/a>, and partly because I&#8217;ve <a href=\"https:\/\/bendreth.com\/?p=179\">written<\/a> about that particular <a href=\"https:\/\/bendreth.com\/?p=655\">topic<\/a> myself.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A Message to Garcia is a standard topic in leadership courses, at least in the ones I attended back in the 1970s.
