{"id":777,"date":"2010-10-01T12:11:30","date_gmt":"2010-10-01T18:11:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/bendreth.com\/?p=777"},"modified":"2010-10-01T12:11:30","modified_gmt":"2010-10-01T18:11:30","slug":"ive-been-seeing-these-graphs-a-lot-lately","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bendreth.com\/?p=777","title":{"rendered":"I&#8217;ve been seeing these graphs a lot, lately"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>They&#8217;re as severe a criticism of the current state of the American educational establishment as the report, <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www2.ed.gov\/pubs\/NatAtRisk\/index.html\">A Nation at Risk<\/a><\/em>, was in 1983, when it famously stated (in 1983!), &#8220;If an unfriendly foreign power had attempted to impose on America the mediocre educational performance that exists today, we might well have viewed it as an act of war.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The graphs are a lot <a href=\"http:\/\/www.powerlineblog.com\/archives\/2010\/09\/027347.php\">quicker and easier to understand<\/a> than the report.
