I started blogging at this site five years ago, as of <a href=\"https:\/\/bendreth.com\/?p=1\">August 24th, 2006<\/a>. I&#8217;d been blogging a little over three years at <a href=\"http:\/\/wayback.archive.org\/web\/*\/http:\/\/home.earthlink.net\/~swheeler843\">my previous site<\/a>, but I decided that I wanted my own domain name.<\/p>\n<p>I chose &#8220;bendreth.com&#8221; as the domain for the phrase, &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Wheels-within-F-Paul-Wilson\/dp\/0976654431\/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&#038;qid=1314711249&#038;sr=8-1\">Wheels within wheels, bendreth.<\/a>&#8221; The only other &#8220;bendreth&#8221; I could find was <a href=\"http:\/\/bendreth.blogspot.com\">a bicycle-centric site on Blogspot<\/a>, for which the phrase also seems appropriate. Although it wasn&#8217;t as obvious at the time, that blog had apparently gone dormant or dead &#8211; it&#8217;s still there, but hasn&#8217;t been updated since before I acquired my domain.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I knew it was coming up, and I still missed it.
