Here is the video I wanted to see last week, although it doesn’t show what I’d hoped.
I guess they did not
October 8th, 2007Your Code is Suboptimal
October 7th, 2007This relates to Eric Sink and SourceGear, makers of what are, no doubt, fine software tools … I just haven’t been able to evaluate them. If you need configuration management/revision control software, check them out. We’re in the market for it at work, and have already evaluated some competing products. Currently, I’m waiting for sufficient space to be made on our Windows 2003 Server system so we can start evaluating SourceGear’s products.
I can’t quite pull off the Evil Mastermind threatening glower, though. Perhaps if I had my own personal disintegrator …
Busy weekend coming up next week
October 4th, 2007I’ll be here, but I doubt I’d attend the World Championships, anyway.
Update: And how could I have forgotten this?
Beep … beep … beep
October 4th, 2007California falls into Pacific
October 4th, 2007Well, not quite. But the Transportation Authority of Marin County got the state government (the entire ca.gov domain) knocked off the internet. What with propagation delays in the DNS network, they were able to recover before there were too many errors, but still …
Do, or do not
October 3rd, 2007And you make all your animal deals
October 2nd, 2007When we got to Estes Park, we wandered through Rocky Mountain National Park. We lucked out, because it was a “free entry” day, which saved us the $20 admission fee.
I’m ashamed to admit that it was the first time I’d seen elk in the wild. Didn’t hear much bugling, but we saw a lot of elk. This photo’s a bit fuzzy, but it’s the best one I got of the herd.
We saw several other herds, but they were all smaller (half-a-dozen or so to a couple of dozen). The closest we got was actually just outside the gates of the park – we saw these bad boys coming back from town:
So you ride yourselves over the fields
October 2nd, 2007Last weekend was being promoted as the time for peak color in the high country, so Marion and I decided to take advantage of it. We drove up through Boulder into Nederland, where we caught the Peak-to-Peak Highway to Estes Park.
Here are a few photos I took along the way. I tried to get thumbnails linked to full-size photos, but the WordPress implementation 1&1 uses appears to only give me a thumbnail option if I use a smaller file to begin with.
We’ve also had our first snows in the high country:
