I wouldn’t have thought they’d be good eating
July 25th, 2013Independence Day
July 4th, 2013I trust everyone is having a good one.
I’m sorry to hear this
April 7th, 2013I never met Toren Smith, but I used to read his blog (when he had one). I didn’t run across the news when it occurred, but he passed away recently. He had an interesting life.
I think I’ve read this before
April 7th, 2013… but it’s not unwelcome. According to researchers, men get health benefits from looking at busty women.
It reminds me of the days I used to get up early to watch “20 Minute Workout.” I used to joke that it got my heartrate up even if I only sat and watched it. Apparently, I wasn’t wrong.
Now to adjust my workout plans.
Milestone
April 2nd, 2013Ten years ago today, I posted the first article on my first website. That blog lasted a little more than three years. I moved from there to here so that I could obtain my own domain.
There’s nothing significant in that first post (or, indeed, most of my posts), but it’s interesting to me to see some of the sites I had in my blogroll back then.
Sounds like an opportunity to me
March 31st, 2013There are so many holidays anymore that I doubt that there’s a day in the year that isn’t multi-purpose, so to speak. New holidays are being proposed all the time (International Talk Like A Pirate Day, Festivus, and Kwanzaa, for example). Dave Barry points out this one, which has been in existence for a few years. It doesn’t appear that there are any suggested activities that have risen to the level of traditions for National Cleavage Day, however, so feel free to celebrate today in any appropriate manner.
Did you miss me?
March 17th, 2013Probably not – I doubt that there are many who read this blog. However, my ISP recently upgraded things, and I was unable to access admin mode for a while. I’ve got a different interface to deal with now, but it shouldn’t be a problem.
It’s likely time for another Miscellany post; I have a bunch of accumulated links to deal with.
Valentine’s Day
February 14th, 2013Marion and I will be going out for a nice dinner tomorrow night, so tonight I cooked. We had seared spice-rubbed ahi tuna with wild mushroom couscous.
Other people celebrate differently. I have cats, but this would never occur to me (although I did give them some catnip this evening).
As an engineer, I find this dating advice for engineers to be both apt and amusing.
The path of love does not always run smoothly.
And, sometimes, it’s not about love.
Fat Tunesday
February 12th, 2013It’s been a while
January 5th, 2013… since I’ve posted anything. I’ve got a few hundred links I’ve accumulated that I could dump, but I haven’t felt like dumping them yet. I was on vacation in New York from just before Christmas until just before New Year’s Eve. I had a good time, and got introduced to Armenian Mulberry Vodka, which is wonderful, although I’ve been unable to find the same brand online.
Currently, I’m missing out on a Pompeii exhibit that I had a ticket for, because I’ve been sick for the last few days, and today is actually the worst so far. There’s apparently something horrible running around. I just hope this clears up soon – I’ve got a ticket for a different museum show tomorrow, and I can’t afford to lose much more time from work at the moment.
