No need to requalify for a long time … beating a bear to death with a stick will do that for you.

Halloween Prep
October 9th, 2008Time to start thinking about what to carve on the Jack O’Lantern. I’m thinking Iron Man’s helmet might be a good image, but I haven’t decided yet. I don’t have photos of all the ones I’ve done – I’m missing the one I did of Tora from the anime series Ushio to Tora, for one – but here are a couple I did for previous Halloweens:
Are they certain it’s not from Microsoft?

In the ABBA shrine
October 1st, 2008Last night, Marion and I finally got around to seeing Mamma Mia! We’d seen the Broadway show and enjoyed it, and figured the scenery of the Greek islands would be pretty nice, too.
Marion’s comment afterward was that the movie was more frenetic than the Broadway production. I agreed – the larger cast and not being limited to a stage allowed for more activity. I also said I liked the Broadway show’s disco costumes more … they were glitzier and less subdued, thus more fun. Of course, it’s hard for either of them to match up with the costumes in The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, which also features the music of ABBA.
And, speaking of ABBA, and bringing things around to the title of this post, in most shrines, you have worshippers. In the ABBA shrine, though …
Oh, sure. Blame the victim.
September 30th, 2008This is a few days old, but …
You know, I’m not sure that claiming self-defense in this case says anything good about you.
That’s odd …
September 17th, 2008The two preceding posts show up normally when I look at them using IE – the photos are sized to the page, but a friend looking at the site sees the photos at full resolution, so that she has to scroll around to see what I intended to be visible at first glance. She’s also using IE, and even the same version.
I’m not certain what’s going on … I’ve seen this behavior once before, but I couldn’t figure it out then. It seems likely to be some sort of configuration option, but I have no control over how anyone visiting the site has those set.
Update: I’ve uploaded smaller versions of the photos – they should display better.
