Sunday, January 13th, 2008Ever think that SimCity was a good game, but it would really rock if you could make some changes? Well, now you can.

Someone thought this was a good idea
Tuesday, November 13th, 2007Saturday, Marion and I went to the Denver Art Museum to see the exhibit of items from the Louvre. I found it fairly interesting. The museum itself was interesting, too. The exhibit was in the new building, which has one of those weird designs (no boxes for us, please, we’re cultured). It meant that even the rooms inside weren’t rectangular (which made for some interesting design decisions in the men’s room, among other locations).
I was disconcerted, though, by something I found in the museum’s store: The Marie Antoinette Action Figure (with Ejector Head Action!).
You can build a mainframe from the things you find at home
Wednesday, November 7th, 2007Well, perhaps not. But Bill Buzbee built his own roughly-8086-equivalent computer from scratch, using wire-wrapped 7400-series logic. He also ported a C compiler an an operating system. Now that’s a homebrew computer!

Anniversary
Tuesday, October 23rd, 2007My iMac came home one year ago today. Now, I’m thinking about a MacBook or MacBook Pro to replace the laptop I killed recently.
I guess they did not
Monday, October 8th, 2007Here is the video I wanted to see last week, although it doesn’t show what I’d hoped.
Do, or do not

Wednesday, August 22nd, 2007If I did this …
Wednesday, August 8th, 2007I would so die, not to mention endanger everyone around me. BoingBoing had a link to this guy racing a motorcycle down a hill, but this is a more informative video. Too bad I can’t understand French.
In another video (poorer quality than this one), he says a suit costs almost 3000 Euro. That’s a lot.
Here is the inventor’s site. Weird, but cute, interface.
UPDATE: Trying to embed the original video caused problems with my site; I’m just going to provide a link to it now.
But, what happens at 88mph?
Wednesday, August 1st, 2007I always wanted to chrome one of these.
